Mrs. Vinson from Nappanee IN is requesting Classroom Basics through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
Help me give my students more visually appealing classroom resources to help engage them in their learning process.
Preschool isn't just a place for parents to drop off their children while they are at work for the day. It is in preschool where children learn the necessary skills needed to succeed in school and in life. With high-quality preschools and qualified teachers the possibilities are endless. It's not only the children who reap the benefits of Early Childhood Education; their parents, fellow peers, and even society feel the positive effects of quality preschool programs. Children enrolled in quality preschool programs are more likely to succeed academically and socially when they are older.
Our Preschool students benefit greatly when teachers teach them through doing various kinds of activities that kids find interesting, like story-time, talking to the teachers about stars, playing with blocks, etc.
For example, to help kids learn language and strengthen their pre-reading skills, teachers in preschool play rhyming games and let kids tell stories. To help kids learn pre-math skills, teachers will ask their little students to count food items during snack time, use the calendar to count down days to their long awaited preschool play, or play memory games with them.
Preschool children learn best when they have positive and caring relationships with adults and other children; when they receive carefully planned, intentional guidance and assistance; and when they can safely encounter and explore many interesting things in their environment.
Preschoolers thrive when they can experience new materials, roles, ideas, and activities—especially in pretend play;
take great interest in feelings and become better able to express their emotions and identify those of others;
make important cognitive gains that invite them to represent their world in pretend play, symbols, objects, drawings, and words; and
show astonishing gains in language skills. With the supplies I am requesting I will be one step closer to helping my students reach their learning goals.
