My students need various options of wiggle seats to support their attention and provide needed sensory input, and they need more puzzles to support their cognitive skills, problem solving, fine motor development, and hand-eye coordination.
With two sessions a day and eighteen total students with special needs, my classroom is full of lively energy and lots of wiggles!
My students consist of vastly different three-, four- and five-year-old individuals who all deserve the very best education and care that I can give!
Each one teaches me just as much as I strive to teach them, and I am very lucky to be a part of their early development. There are students with speech and language impairments, autism, epilepsy, intellectual disability, other health impairment, cortical visual impairment, hearing impairment, and more.
My Project
The variety of wiggle cushions I am requesting will work to support individual student needs. Each student needs something different, and with these new cushions, I will be better equip to individualize education and help students access learning in the most appropriate ways.
The puzzles will allow for a broad range of student learning needs to be met.
The chunky and knob puzzles will support students with more fine motor challenges. The more challenging puzzles and STEM activities will allow some of my higher students to access materials at their level.
These materials will make a difference in my students' learning in school. With such a varied group of 3-5 year old students, we really benefit from this wide variety of materials!
