My Students

I love how different and accepting my students are. My class is inclusive, so I have students who don't speak English, students with special needs, and some with low income backgrounds. By the time they leave me, they are like a family to each other. The beautiful thing about preschoolers is their accepting nature and willingness to be friends with everyone. One way to connect them even more to each other is by providing them with resources that include themselves amd their classmates in meaningful ways

My Project

Preschoolers love looking at books and being read to, but they love it even more when the books feature their favorite people--themselves! I have noticed a real uptick in book use and appreciation in our library center when students are using books personalized to our classes. We can create books that use alphabet letters and students' pictures, real photos of students showing different emotions and feelings, amd even patterns and numbers. This binding machine will allow us to easily create books that are durable (they will be read over and over!) and easily editable to accommodate new students and themes.
