My Students

Our school is in a low income neighborhood and we provide our students with free breakfast and lunch every day. Our school is recognized as one of the most diverse in the nation. The students in my class come from multiple different ethnic and cultural backgrounds. Within my classroom alone there are five different languages spoken. Our families are comprised of people going through tough times to service members in the military. My students are very active and love to build and explore new things. We do most of our learning through play, and I usually learn just as much from them as they learn from me.

My Project

Research shows that preschool students who enter Kindergarten knowing letters of the alphabet are more successful in their reading journey.

Help me provide my students with more exposure to the alphabet by purchasing these toys and games to help them be engaged learners working to build their alphabet knowledge.

Students will be able to search to find letters of the alphabet in the sand using the letter leaves, toss bugs to name letters on the magnetic alphabet mat, search for their letters or build words with the magnetic tiles, build letters with the Wikki Stix and play dough mats to help them name and recognize the letters of the alphabet.
