Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students live in a low socioeconomic neighborhood. They come from very diverse backgrounds and each family has its own needs. Many of them have been impacted during the pandemic. They do not have an abundance of supplies at their homes. Just being back in the schools has created difficult situations for everyone.

The little learners need grade appropriate books and new crayons in their classroom.

Little Learners love looking through books and imagining they are reading. When the teacher reads to them they are sponges who absorb the words. Then coloring a picture about the book is the icing on the cake.

Help me add to my class library and bring brand new crayons to my students.

My Project

The little learners are now developing the love of reading. Teachers read all day long and the books to read are few and far between. I need books to add to my little learners library. The children are now choosing books, sitting on the floor, and pretending they are reading the books themselves.

I need more books for the children to choose from.

I am building up the class library a little at a time. I am trying to find books that they would enjoy. I also need new crayons for the children to use when we draw a picture of the stories we read.
