Help me give my students a new wooden dollhouse, barn, a light panel, and light table materials to help them improve language and learning through hands-on play.
I teach the youngest students in elementary school, the preschoolers. They are curious learners who gain knowledge about the world around them through play and hands-on learning experiences in the preschool classroom. I love how energetic and eager to learn children are at this young age.
Our inclusive classroom is home to students that are ages 3-5, who come from a beautifully diverse community and each have unique educational needs.
At school, they learn about the community around them while being nurtured by school staff who treat students like family.
My Project
I want to give my preschool students access to learning materials that will promote language development and learning through sensory play in the preschool classroom.
A great deal of learning in our classroom involves developing communication skills, social-emotional skills, and learning through sensory experiences.
So much spontaneous and important communication happens in our classroom with the play people and animals. Having a wooden barn and dollhouse would enhance that play and communication, which is especially important for students who have goals focused on social skills and communication.
The light panel, manipulatives, and materials would provide endless opportunities for learning in a whole new way!
