Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach in a title 1, half day special education preschool classroom. I have two classes of 10 students each with a variety of developmental and behavioral needs. My students are diligently working toward academic, social, emotional, and behavioral goals.
Albert Einstein once said, "Everybody is a genius.
But If you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid."
Some of the children are learning to attend to a task for a short period of time and others are learning one to one correspondence, the alphabet, and how the world works around them. My goal as a teacher is to celebrate small steps toward goals with each student, every day.
My Project
Tablets will allow me to individualize learning for each of my students. Currently, it can be difficult for some of my students to attend to a learning task. However, the students in my classroom are fascinated with technology, and especially fascinated with technology they can interact with.
Touch screen tablets are a great way to integrate students' interests and learning.
In addition, I will be able to give students some tasks to work on independently. This will be a huge advantage, as each student in my classroom is working toward different goals. Samsung Galaxy tablets will help the students in my classroom receive the individualized teaching they deserve!
