Help me give my students a start on gardening and growing their own food as well as the tools to cut the food they grow.
This project expired on February 6, 2019.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
I teach at an elementary school nestled in the heart of WV. Our students are a mix of different socioeconomic backgrounds. Our children love to come to school and love to learn. They are experiencing school for the first time. They love hands on learning and experiencing the world through play. As first time learners they are learning many different skills, academic and social emotional. Our classroom also houses special needs children. We learn about different types of disabilities and the amazing abilities these children possess.
Our students will be able to safely cut the food they grow in their garden with the help of these kid safe knives and cutting boards. The cages will support their tomatoes and peas. The potting soil will go in a new bed we created to grow herbs. My students love being hands on in the garden and we would love for them to be able to be hands on after the old has grown. Without these knives my children are forced to watch me cut the food for them. They really want to be involved in all parts of the gardening expereince.
