Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students with special needs are unique and special in their own ways. They need hands-on materials to support their learning. COVID-19 has impacted their learning tremendously because now, we as teachers, need enough materials for each child, to prevent any spread of the virus in our classroom.

My Project

The materials requested (Magna-Tiles, activity mats, emotion mirrors, sorting sets, a timer, and more) will support my students transitioning in the classroom, as well as, work on their fine motor skills and social-emotional skills. We will work on identifying feelings and describing them. We will use a timer for students to know when it's time to transition at school. We will also practice sorting shapes, sizes, and colors with some of the materials chosen in this project.

I am very excited about the opportunity to try some of these materials in my classroom with my preschool students.

I can already imagine their happy faces when I show them what we received.
