My Project
The thing that makes my students so special is that they have a heart for learning that has not diminished due to COVID-19 school shutdowns. The students will benefit from having materials to use while working with peers. Students can improve social and emotional skills by sharing, talking with peers about the materials, sustaining engagement in fun actvities, and increasing confidence.
COVID-19 has resulted in my students losing skills in social interaction.
My students are now more dependent on technology and video games. They are interacting less with peers, for students that already have reduced communication skills, behavior concerns, and social and emotional development delays it has been devastating.
The specific goal is to give students the materials and opportunities to pracitce social skills in the in-person learning environement. These hands-on shareable materials are great. The balance steps will allow the students to support each other and offer praise for success.
