My Students
I work in a 3K class in Brooklyn NY. Yes, 3 year old children, and a few of them won't be 3 till December. My students are the future! For most of them this is their first time going to school and are having a bit of a hard time adjusting but I'm sure once they are used to us, they will be able to enjoy school.
I want to help my students feel that they belong at school.
By creating a space where they feel welcomed and loved they will look forward to coming to school. Therefore I am asking for some tools that will help me create the environment that fits their needs.
My Project
The dry erase writing table (Carolina Writing Center) will help my students with space. The dry erase surface is needed because they still don't have the concept of space therefore a lot of them don't know where to stop and write on the table instead of going back to the paper. We need aprons because my friends vary in small sizes and the ones we currently use do not fit accordingly. The stamp pad and stamp emotions will help them work on their fine motor skills as well as help them regulate their emotions.
These age appropriate materials will encourage students to use them accordingly and help develop self help skills.
