Help me give my students the supplies they need to read, write and create - Storex Caddies to hold their supplies, highlighters to annotate text, and craft supplies to demonstrate their knowledge in creative ways.
Inquisitive. Determined. Enthusiastic. These are just some words that describe by incredible 7th grade students. They demonstrate an amazing desire to learn, and I want to do everything in my power to provide these learning opportunities for them.
We are a diverse group, representing readers and writers of all different backgrounds and abilities.
Acquiring the necessary skills to become proficient readers and writers requires tools and teachings aids that I do not immediately have at my disposal. This is where I need YOU! With your help and generosity, my students will have access to the materials they need to develop essential skills in language arts through imagination and intellect.
My Project
The 2018-2019 school year was my first year teaching Language Arts. I had switched from PE, where the required supplies are a little different. Although I purchased a laundry list of supplies at the start of the year, I quickly realized that either I did not have enough or that students would come to class without basic supplies like pencils, paper and highlighters.
My classes are very interactive, where we mark up text, take notes, and create projects to demonstrate our knowledge.
Without these necessary supplies, students will demonstrate what they know through means that may not be as engaging and will not stimulate their vivid imaginations.
Highlighters, pens and pencils will allow all students to have the supplies necessary to annotate and analyze text. Craft supplies will be instrumental in creating visual projects, like when we designed cartoon characters or decorated our original poetry. Engaging students and fostering lifelong readers and learners is my ultimate goal. These supplies will help me achieve that!
