Our students live mostly in rural areas. The town itself is very small and so is our county. We are a close-knit community and know most of our students and their families. Many families have jobs in nursing, teaching, and construction. We live a happy, simple, small-town life in our little area. Many enjoy the simple pleasures of fishing, camping, the joys of playing outside, and just being a kid climbing a tree and running around in the yard. Our classroom is made up of kindergartners that are usually 5 or 6 years old. There is usually a wide range in learning ability, some need extra “special” help while others may need one-on-one attention to learn. We have students that are right in the middle or able to read already. No matter the learning ability they are always willing and ready to help their friend out in work or play. Kindergarten is very learning diverse but we love it, making certain they learn and enjoy every second of what kindergarten has to offer them. Our community is not rich in money but rich in friendship. We appreciate all your donations to our classroom.
My Project
This project is all about getting our students ready. Being prepared is half the battle in kindergarten. Cutting up craft and work projects can be time-consuming and messy. Having a paper cutter would greatly cut down on the time it takes to prepare a lesson.
Laminating is essential to saving paper and all the wonderful work our kiddos do throughout the year.
We laminate many lessons so they can be used over and over again. Students can use them as dry erase boards. We can clean it right off and use it again and again for many years. Our old binder machine quit on us and we desperately need another one. We bind books that the students make, their journals at the end of the year, and many other lessons we use all year.
All of these are expensive and something we use almost daily in our classrooms. We are in dire need of replacements. Thank you, in advance for your generous donations.
