My students need 100-Piece Wooden Train Set and a Master Set of Jumbo Cardboard Blocks, to utilize their imagination by constructing and participating in building with their hands and minds.
I am a pre-k teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district. My school is a Title I school, where all students receive free breakfast and lunch. Students are faced with challenges both at home and at school. As a pre-k teacher, this is my students' first experience in school. I plan to make their experience exciting and rewarding all year long.
My students are curious, creative, and problem-solvers.
They love to work and learn with their hands. I believe in the following quote, "Tell me and I forget, teach me and I remember, involve me and I learn." This is definitely the best way for my students learn.
My Project
My students need 100-Piece Wooden Train Set and a Master Set of Jumbo Cardboard Blocks, to utilize their imagination by constructing and participating in building with their hands and minds. Students in my classroom love to create and engage in pretend play. One of the most favorite centers in our PreK classroom is our "Block Center". This is a center where students can create their dreams and act out what they would like to be in life. One of the main idea and interests among our students are trains and engineers. The train set, along with the brick blocks, will provide them with materials to create their fantasies and become their own engineer.
Student learning is at its best when it is relevant and hands on learning.
With these materials, we will be able to provide both of these. It is my hope to provide the best materials and guidance to create to attitude of a lifelong learner at this early age.
