Help me give my students new STEAM materials such as Magnifying glasses, headphones , puzzles and art supplies to support our hands on learning centers.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My Pre-K classroom is filled with 20 energy-filled four/five-year-olds. They are like busy little bees buzzing about our room looking eager to learn and discover new things. Many of my students come from low income, high poverty households. Our goal is to give them a nurturing, solid foundation while preparing them for success in kindergarten and throughout their school career.
Despite the daily challenges my students face, they arrive at school each day ready to learn and explore.
My kids are so motivated to learn. I strive each day to make learning fun and engaging for little ones.
My Project
STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) is the new wave of scientific thinking that unites subject areas. It allows students to develop high order thinking skills that expand their mind and leave a lasting impression which is vital for such young minds in Pre-K. The STEAM resources requested consist of magnetic building tiles, puzzles, and art supplies that require the children to expand their thinking to create a new objects. These materials will help my Pre-K students to think critically and artistically possibly resulting in future scientist, architects, engineers, etc.
These STEAM resources will allow my Pre-K students to expand their knowledge beyond the classroom and develop higher order thinking skills that will benefit them throughout their educational journey.
My students LOVE both science and art. They are always in both areas of the classroom. I am becoming big into STEAM and want to bring more STEAM activities into our daily lessons. With the art supplies that I have requested I am hoping the students will want to create art around our various science topics. Science and art are both a big part of STEAM.
