This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students live in a city with high poverty, high crime and high unemployment. Despite these obstacles, they are just like any other three- and four-year-old prekindergarten students. My students are so very special. They are curious young minds. They come to school happy every day. They have a smile on their faces daily. My school has a strong community base. The parents are very involved in their children's education. The teachers do all they can to teach the students despite any hardships they may be facing.
My Project
As my students are exploring topics they always want to explore the topics more once a topic of study ends or a lesson ends. Therefore, I thought that the students will be able to ask the Google mini or the Amazon Echo questions such as, "What is the most popular pet?" or "Why do dogs bark?" during the Pet Study and other studies in order to explore the topics more. They can use the journals to draw and write what they hear.
The Google mini and the Amazon Echo will be able to assist the students in learning more about a specific topic in class.
Topics such as Pets, Trees, Clothing, Tunnels, Roads and Insects are explored during the school year and students are always curious to learn more. These items will be a great tool for the students to learn that they can use technology as a toll to research and learn more about a particular study. This skill will come in handy as they advance to elementary, middle and high school.
