This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach Pre K, so you can only imagine a classroom full of eager to learn students. Their ages range from 4-5. They are SO SMART, but do need lots of procedures in place in order to fulfill all of their learning needs. We are in a high poverty area in Dallas, which limits us a little, but we get things done! I am so happy with how much they want to learn! They are so eager to learn even more than what the Pre K guidelines require!

My Project

I have requested new furniture for my classroom because the cabinets we use for storage now are extremely old. They are wobbly, broken, and a big safety hazard! We are in a low income area, therefore our school does not have fancy equipment or furniture. With new furniture, our classroom will feel and look nice and be able to be more organized. With more organization, the students and myself will be able to be more productive during small group and centers time. We will no longer have to worry about a cabinet falling over while getting something off of it or putting materials up.
