Help me give my students active play toys such as stepping buckets and horse hoppers to support their physical development, increase engagement throughout the school day, and decrease stress and anxiety.

Our hopes and dreams for pre-K scholars do not just include academic achievement. Instead, the goal of our program is to educate the whole child. We believe that one of the most important parts of educating the whole child is promoting healthy lifestyles. We encourage our students to move their bodies inside, outside, during less-structured play times, and during more-structured learning. We notice that our young scholars are both more engaged with learning and less anxious when they are able to move!
In our early childhood program, we serve a large and diverse population of children with many scholars coming from challenging situations.
Especially because our neighborhood is in a very urban area, some of our scholars have limited access to outdoor spaces or play equipment. We believe in creating opportunities for all our scholars to move, play, and learn actively. We know that creating these opportunities will help us meet our goal of establishing healthy lifestyle habits, increasing engagement, and decreasing stress for our youngest scholars.
We notice that our students perform better throughout the day when they are given the opportunity to move their bodies. Children are less anxious and more engaged when they have many opportunities to move. Moreover, in our program we believe in educating the whole child and establishing healthy habits for the future, like self-care and exercise.
The resources we have requested will help to ensure that all scholars are given interesting and exciting ways to move their bodies.
Children will develop balancing skills by using balance buckets. They will build gross motor coordination by using horse hoppers. Children will have their sensory needs met by using Sit and Spin toys. All of the active play toys we are requesting will help fulfill the movement needs of our youngest learners so that they can de-stress and minimize anxiety.
