My Students

Thank you for choosing to view my project. I am a Pre-K teacher and work with four-year-olds in a low-income/high poverty urban school. My students struggle to meet daily needs due to limited resources at home. They come to school hungry, tired, and their clothes are not always clean. We have a washer and dryer at school and assist them when they are in need. We have a backpack program that sends food weekly to these students to ensure they have something to eat. They are desperate for attention and just want your love.

Even during their struggles, they are motivated and eager to learn.

They are always happy and energetic when at school. I may not have control over their personal lives, but it is my goal to provide them with the best education possible!

My Project

In our Pre-K classroom and through virtual at home, we are learning through hands-on experiences. My students love to explore new materials especially when it comes to Art. These supplies would enable my students to work at school and home as well with watercolor, jewels, and Do A Dot art sets. The easels, paint brushes, and paper will be used by my students during center time to create amazing projects.

By providing a rich variety of art supplies, my young students are developing mentally, socially and emotionally.

They are developing fine motor skills, problem solving and creating a strong foundation in Art.

In our classroom and through virtual learning, we allow the students to use their imaginations and create projects for their parents which gives them keepsakes for years to come. We support our students through the art making process, but allow them to explore the materials independently.

Our students love creating and they feel accomplished and confident when they finish a new painting. These supplies will provide our classroom and students with countless opportunities to support their continued growth at school and home!
