My Students
I am a Pre-K teacher at a neighborhood charter school in Oklahoma City. Our school has 330 wonderful students in Pre-K through Fifth grade. Even though 90% of our students are below the poverty line they are resilient and determined to learn every day!
My students are passionately curious.
Pre-k is such a special age; these students are asking questions about the world and searching for answers. I hope to encourage this curiosity and create a classroom full of lifelong learners.
My Project
Art supplies are such a versatile teaching tool in early years. Students will be able to be creative and express themselves with paint, gems,colorful tape, and scissors, these art supplies also build the fine motor skills that help children become writers! We also need an art storage caddy and a drying rack to keep our art space organized and to keep our masterpieces safe!
Art and creativity are essential in the early years of learning.
In Pre-K art helps students express themselves and connect to their peers.
In my classroom students will use art to connect with stories we have read, create their own masterpieces, and even collaborate with their classmates on special projects!
