This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Our Pre-K adventure begins! My young learners are excited about coming to school every day. They are eager to explore the open-ended materials in our classroom and share new experiences with friends.
My students are four- and five-year olds attending a neighborhood school.
Many of their older siblings attend our school as did many of their parents. Many of our students come from low-income homes. Our school system provides free breakfast and lunch to every student daily through a grant.
My Project
My Pre-K students really enjoy playing outside. Our playground area has been a work in progress. Recently, parents worked to spread mulch across the play area and put together a piece of climbing equipment. Now, we need some more equipment.
Pre-K Outdoor Playtime materials will inspire and motivate my students to build, problem-solve and think creatively.
I've chosen some outdoor building kits to encourage problem-solving during STEM construction challenges. A set of colorful balls and an inflator will keep my students bouncing, rolling, throwing, and catching. The balance set will give students many opportunities to develop balance and gross motor skills. All of this equipment will provide open-ended interactions and promote inventive thinking.
