Imagine being three years old and leaving home for the first time. Well, they are not traveling across the country but to these small little ones this may be their first experience in life without a parent to hold their hands. This is the moment they walk into a room and independence begins. My children come from various backgrounds but have chosen this school because of the unique opportunities that come with a public Montessori education. We are imaginative, creative, and compassionate.
My Project
There is no greater satisfaction than looking into your students' eyes and see them learn something for the first time. My students are small sponges soaking up knowledge on a daily basis. Every day they enter into class excited about what the day ahead will bring. These sight word, writing, abc, map, animal geography, handwriting lessons and activities will allow the children to explore math, science, social studies and writing. The academic lessons will provide hands-on opportunities, independent exploration, and an amazing sense of autonomy. Active learning is so important for the Pre-K student because it provides the foundation for love of learning, intensifies focus, and instills in them a wonderful feeling of confidence.
