My students need a listening center and set of bools for that center.

What did you do when you were four or five? Question, tinker, discover, dream, hope.
We know that basic human needs like love, food, and shelter need to be met in order to foster a child's cognitive, emotional, social and physical growth.
We live in an urban setting with 100% of our students on free or reduced lunch. Our students come from a variety of different ethnic backgrounds. We believe they can be the kind of children who grow up creators and leaders who impact others. Yet, for many of them, this neighborhood in Cleveland is all they have ever known. This is a reality for our students every day. We want to show them there is so much out there to explore and that they can do it. Our kids’ creativity has no boundaries. They are inquisitive and filled with hope.
We want to change the game. We believe if we change the game, we can change our kids' path. Help us with that.
We are excited to help our students in every way that we can!
Have you ever wondered how the underdog finds a way to get to the top? How certain teams stay together and continue on their journey while enduring the toughest of times? I always wondered what makes these individuals or groups tick and how they keep going to continue to grow and develop. Certain characteristics pop up across many disciplines.
Humility, passion, unity, giving, thankful, accountable, and wanting to improve everyday.
Those are the traits we want to share with our kiddos. This library of books will introduce how we can bring them into our lives everyday at our listening center.
In preschool the students are learning everyday how to be learners. By using a listening center as a part of our day the students will learn to be more independent. There will also be times at this center where they will need to share and use that skill as well. By attending preschool the students develop some of the social skills needed to be successful in school. This also helps the students to be more prepared for kindergarten.
All kids deserve a chance to excel. With your generosity, we can lay the groundwork for our little explorers!
