Here at my school, the students are in a first year PreK program. Many of them are English language learners from low income families in an inner city area. Their diverse backgrounds really allow me to encourage all of them to have fun, be eager to learn and love coming to school. They are really trying so hard to adjust to their new title of “student!” I am so proud of how far they’ve come this year! They are really special kids and I can’t wait to see what they will accomplish!
Pre-K is a huge year for growing and learning! Our program could really use a color printer. My students are exploring every single thing around them. They especially love art and any type of learning that involves visuals or hands-on experiences! Besides the basics of letters, numbers, shapes and of course colors, there is also vocabulary! Being able to present these new items or places to them in color will make a huge difference in helping them recognize, learn about and retain the information they need to be successful! We can play games, tell stories and use our imaginations to “travel” anywhere they would like to go!
