Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are part of a blended classroom where there is a mixture of diverse learners with a wide range of abilities and students who come from the neighborhood which is predominantly Mexican-American. We are building the understanding in students that all are welcome in our special needs inclusive classroom.

My classroom is a little lab to practice life skills, make mistakes and fall in love with learning.

My goal is for my students to understand that learning happens in the world around them, and the best way to teach that is to bring the world to the classroom.

My Project

As the year closes, we are looking forward to the next school year and beginning to fill the gaps which were found this past year. We are looking to get organizational materials for the upcoming school year - and since we label everything from toys to books to pictures of students we need lots of labels, velcro, and tape!

We have a great system already in place - our units seem very cohesive, but we can always do better for our students!

We are looking to fill in some books for our student library on an upcoming unit about buildings and construction. We are also looking to get a used dollhouse for our blocks area, so we asked for dollhouse accessories.

Finally, we are requesting basic preschool materials, including water beads, stamps, ink pads and a xylophone for our music center.
