My students need books on gardening! We have been approved to plant our Pre-K garden, and now we would like to prepare by doing some research on how to plant and take care of our garden!
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are inquisitive explorers of their surroundings! They are always asking questions and conducting experiments in the world around them. They come up with the most innovative ideas and I can just see that the future is going to better because of them! Our Pre-K program students can and do come from all over the city. We have a wonderfully diverse classroom with students from various backgrounds and countries such as Poland, and Albania! We are all able to learn from each other because of all the life experiences that we can share with one another.
We have 2 class sessions of lively and inspiring students so there is never a dull moment in our room!
The students love school and each other!
My Project
We have been approved to incorporate a Pre-K Garden for our school! Before we jump in we would like to read books and research how to plant and take care of a garden! Many of our students do not know what a garden is so we want them to have some visuals and ideas about what we will need to do before we get started! Reading these books will build enthusiasm around our project as well as give the students a sense of empowerment and confidence, as they will be taking care of the garden.
Our students love reading and the knowledge and information they get from these books will translate over into the real world once we start our garden
