This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Established in 1979, our school provides education and support services for children with hearing or vision loss in our school system. Some of the students have additional challenges that magnify the impact of the vision or hearing loss. Each of the students has special needs and requires extensive technology and assistance to succeed in a school setting.
Students attend classes at one of three locations: the elementary, middle, or high school campus.
In addition, itinerant services are provided throughout our county for students whose disability is not severe enough to require full-time placement at one of the campuses. Services are also provided in several area counties.
My Project
The Pre-K students who attend our wonderful school have either a vision or hearing loss. We strive to provide equipment that will help fill this sensory void.
The trampoline will provide a fun way to help fulfill their sensory loss.
Trampolines are frequently used to work on fine and gross motor skills. The trampoline will be placed in our Pre-K playground so the students will have a safe area to jump. The trampoline comes with netting to ensure they are safe and won't fall out while jumping.
The ground screw anchors will be used to keep our outdoor sensory swing safely on the ground. Our Pre-K students use this swing daily and this will help keep all four legs on the ground.
The various bulletin board paper will be used for tons of Pre-K projects. The paper will be used to cover tables while doing messy arts and craft, during snack time for easy clean up, and used to showcase their creative work. The darker colors will be a great contrast against brighter objects while doing table work for our visually impaired Pre-K students.
Thank you for supporting our Pre-K students need to move, jump, create, and have fun!
