We have a school of close to 1,500 students from middle to lower class families. Our community is an older community that does not contain a lot of new development but has a lot of tradition. Our student-athletes are great representatives of their community and are wonderful examples of our school. Unfortunately, they do not all have the financial means to compete with many of the schools we face.
Despite the struggles we face, our student-athletes continue to work hard on a daily basis to maximize their abilities.
These baseball players are enthusiastic and hard-working. Our school has three teams that these students are part of (Varsity, JV, and C). Many of our players have aspirations of continuing their careers into college but all of them will use baseball as a way to get the most out of their high school experience. Baseball has become more than just something to pass the time but a life long goal to achieve team working and collaboration skills and to become better baseball players.
My Project
Our high school baseball players will benefit from using this equipment to enhance their baseball skills throughout the season. Better individual players make for a stronger team. The training gloves will allow our infielders to learn the fundamentals of fielding ground balls. The batting tees will allow our hitters to train in a controlled environment and help our coaches to provide individual instruction. The bands provide an exercise routine designed to strengthen the rotator cuff and surrounding muscle groups, which also helps with injury prevention, endurance, and increased velocity. All of this equipment is much needed as part of our high school baseball program.
