Practice makes Perfectly Fluent

Help me give my students a fun and interactive way to practice math facts with electronic flash cards, to allow them to practice with addition, subtraction and multiplication, as well as division all in one nice, neat, little package.

My Students

I serve a diverse group of students made up of second language learners, special education learners, as well as mainstream students. As a Title One school, the majority of our population are on free or reduced-price lunches.

Technology drives much of what we do in the classroom in 2019.

Being a hands-on Blended Learning campus with 1-to-1 technology, demands we use our group instruction time productively with visual applications that are clear and precise. As we strive to provide quality Personalized Learning, it is important for our large group instruction time to be limited. Unfortunately, when the students cannot hear or see what we are teaching during this time, it takes time away from their individualized instruction time, due to the extra time we are forced to spend explaining and showing the information we are attempting to teach. As you can imagine, striving to teach students effectively with visual aids is not easy when we do not have compatible or effectively working technology to meet the current needs.

My Project

Students will use these handheld devices to practice math facts in a fun and engaging way.

These devices allow for quick and consequence-free practice to help them become more fluent in their math facts.

Students will be able to practice on what they need help with most, picking for themselves which mode to work in. The small devices will be a much more exciting way to become fluent in facts than the typical flashcard and drill worksheets. My students love technology, and this small piece of technology can be used over and over without prep or updating needed.
