Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

The students in the our High School Band are representative of communities throughout Prince George's County, MD. Students living anywhere in the county are able to audition and if selected, attend this arts intensive program.

Our students are serious about the art of music and will directly benefit from your support.

Many of our students pursue music professionally and in college upon completion of this program. Even those who do not, still gain valuable life experiences that help them grow into exemplary citizens and advocates for the arts.

My Project

Do you know what its like to hearing a kid practicing their instrument after your long day at work? It's not always the most relaxing or pleasant experience...but it is certainly a worthwhile experience that rewards the student with opportunity to make memories that will last a lifetime.

This project is to purchase practice pads for my percussion students.

As you can imagine, drums make quite the noise...also, students do not have access to percussion equipment at home. These pad will make it much more efficient for those students to work on material at home.

This project will also provide batteries for my other students who use tuners and metronomes for their practice.
