Help me give my students dry erase markers and erasers so they can write their numbers on the rekenrek as they learn number sense and also use the brightly colored chart paper, crayons and markers for learning.
I am so blessed to have this highly intelligent, curious, well-mannered group! These students are African-American and are learning Spanish in an immersion setting. They have already mastered many songs and continue to thrive.
Despite the disadvantages that are their reality, they demonstrate an eagerness to learn and deserve every opportunity available.
This learning community receives free lunch and breakfast, relies on Coats for Kids as well as the free eyeglass program and free backpacks to attend class daily.
Kindergarten classrooms are indeed special places where life long learning takes place. It takes a significant amount of material to provide children with experiences that focus on learning. The markers will be used with existing whiteboards for daily practice in building essential skills in the center rotations. The centers are continuously being replenished, modified and updated. Unfortunately, some materials are completely consumed or become worn out and need to be replaced.
New handwriting materials for the Writing Center would allow my students to continue practicing to become proficient writers.
They will be able to express themselves in a much more creative manner!
