This year's class is very inquisitive. They love to learn new things and are always willing to ask for other ways to solve a problem. This year there is a feeling of family in our room. Everybody knows we are in this to learn together.
Our classroom motto is, "Never say I can't, say, not yet, so I will keep on trying." Our favorite focus this year is taking a lot of brain breaks.
The kids just love this. Anytime a brain break is mentioned you can just see the engagement and excitement. The great thing is that once the break is over students go right back to the task at hand.
My Project
Having more engaging academic resources will make additional practice in math, science and English something that my students will want to do. The modern internet is turning into pay to use and often times it is hard to find affordable enrichment materials.
Making academics entertaining and challenging gives students incentive to go above and beyond.
I always have secondary activities for the students to do when they finish their primary assignment. Students will often focus on a task longer if they know a more engaging activity is waiting when they finish the assignment that is in front of them.
Students naturally love puzzles so concepts that are presented in puzzle form are a wonderful resource.
