Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Have you ever heard of the saying, "Practice makes perfect"?
My students need to practice the skills they learn throughout the day.
I teach twenty-six wonderful kindergartners!
They love to sing, count, read and play. They attend an inner city public school in Chicago. Our school is located in a high-crime and high-poverty neighborhood. My goal as their teacher is to expose them to as many learning experiences as possible in a safe learning environment.
My Project
I'm requesting reproducible books in which I will be able to make copies for my students. These books include the skills that kindergartners must master by the end of the school year. They include the following skills; addition, subtraction, numbers, handwriting, alphabet, vowels and sight words. I'm also requesting ink that will allow me to print these practice sheets for my students. These math books support and challenge English-speaking and Spanish-speaking students. They contain identical activities in English and Spanish that develop and reinforce essential basic skills in math.
I tell my students that they must practice, practice, practice!
These books and ink will allow me to make copies for them to practice. They will practice these skills at home for homework. It's challenging for them to practice these skills if they don't have these resources in school. Your kind donation will give my students the opportunity to master these skills by the end of the year.
