Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are children that cannot attend their home schools due to their limiting medical conditions. They are undergoing cancer treatment, recovering from a brain injury, an immune deficiency which does not allow them to attend classes in a classroom setting, etc. They can be with us for a year or for many years. As teachers, we build relationships with our students and their families that last for many years. It is awesome to see them recover, move on and succeed in life after their debilitating challenges.
My Project
I would like to offer my students additional support for their academic success. These children are hospital/home-bound and receive instruction at home or in the hospital. As their teacher, I visit them 1 or 2 times a week, each for 2 hours.
My students need additional motivation and support in order to fully master the academic objectives they need to learn in order to move on.
Utilizing the HP Chromebook, will allow me to personalize digital instruction, supporting our curriculum in the areas of Math, English Language arts, Science, Social studies, and Electives for Pre-K through 12th grade students. Students using digital instruction reinforce learning. The Mobile Epson printer will allow me to print supplementary material for class time and home learning.
These tools would be an awesome asset for my students and for me to utilize in order to help them strengthen their skills so they can successfully advance to the next phase of their lives
