"Good morning" and high fives are what I look forward to every school day. I am so eager to welcome my students into the classroom. Although they face many challenges in their daily lives, they are the most awesome group of children that you will ever meet.
I teach at a Title I school where 100 percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.
No matter what background or academic level, my students love student-centered activities. They all want to be in school each and every day so they can learn and be successful. I am proud of each and every one!
My Project
The math materials that I am requesting today will help students be successful in building math proficiency. In a hi-tech world, VersaTiles provide a much-needed way to engage students in a hands-on way to practice math skills. This added resource covers addition and subtraction: to 20 and beyond, foundations of multiplication: equal groups and array, addition and subtraction: properties and place value, measurement and data: length, time, and analysis, measurement and data: time, money, and analysis, and geometry: shapes and attributes.
By donating to our project, you will help students boost self-confidence in skills practice that allows them to answer questions and self-check their answers.
Students can use the VeraTiles either independently, in a small group, rotations, or in centers. They will answer questions, flip and check, open and self-correct, and then check the tiles. Aligned to state and national standards, these materials allow students to practice math skills in a reliable challenging manner.
