This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I have a gender base classroom (all girls). Their age range is 10 to 12. They are actively receptive as learners of factual information and often love to memorize.
They enjoy participating in group activities, but yes they are girls so they have disagreements, too.
However, we work on problem solving strategies so this is minimal.
They are all unique in their own way and eager to learn and often put forth their best effort. We are a multi-cultural classroom, so we share our culture and ensure that everyone is treated fairly. We are one big happy family.
My Project
Fourth Quarter I will be focusing on BEING RESPONSIBLE. Being responsible for their own supplies is our area of concentration as my girls are getting ready to transition into the sixth grade, so having them organize their belongings is a great way to start.
My class is preparing for the E.O.G (End of Grade Test) so we engage in small group activity/activities where students practice (helps in mastering a standard) passages and work cooperatively to accomplish and complete different passages from different standards, hence the reading comprehension cards and passages.
The more practice the better/greater the proficiency level.
Printing in class is done daily to access print out/s for home work, class work, assessments, group work and for information. Writing in my class is vital, students write to explain, clarify, compare, express themselves etc. So we are always need pencils.
All work and no play makes Jane a dull girl, a little Charade won’t hurt.
