Help me give my students a variety of picture books that support social studies, science, math, and help them develop a growth mindset! These picture book collections will make our studies dynamic, engaging and memorable!
I have the privilege of teaching 29 wonderful, curious, enthusiastic fifth graders. Each of these students bring a unique perspective into the classroom. Each day is unique in it's own way. As an educator,I am constantly looking for ways to enhance my students' experiences and connections with our curriculum. One way I like to do this is by enhancing their understanding through meaningful picture books.
I've never met a group of 5th graders more enthusiastic about their own learning!
They show up to school each and every day wanting to soak up any and all possible knowledge. This group accepts challenges and perseveres until they feel they have accomplished it. I am always looking for ways to enhance and support their learning with interactive experiences that enhance our learning.
My Project
Picture books bring a new level to students' learning and are engaging to ALL learners. These collections will enhance our classroom library in many ways. The collection of growth mindset picture books will guide positive class discussions around tacking challenges in life. I've noticed that many of my students are reluctant to being "wrong" and are often worried about tasks that appear to difficult. In order to help prepare my students for success beyond the classroom, I need these picture books to support our development of a growth mindset. The science and math collections will enhance our STEM lessons as well. I've found that my students have a difficult time finding the real world connections in math and science- these books will help them realize that math and science is all around us!
Picture books are an exciting and engaging addition to our classroom library and something that ALL students enjoy.
Picture books help foster a love of reading in all readers, but can be especially helpful to develop a love of reading among reluctant readers. Adding these collections in our classroom library will be a dynamic addition to support ALL learners of ALL ages!
