Practical Life Is Practicing Life!

Help me give my students new plates and silverware for our snack preparation area in the classroom.

My Project

As adults, we complete so many of our daily activities without even giving it any thought. These tasks are automatic to us. The Practical Life area is where my students practice these life skills that will foster their independence. Through Practical Life activities, my students can build their habit of caring for themselves, others and the environment.

"The essence of independence is to be able to do something for one's self."

The dishes and silverware will provide my students with the materials to make their own snacks. They will use the napkin to prepare for table setting and care for self. The toaster will be a safe way for my students to use kitchen appliances on their own. Imagine our children filled with confidence as they serve themselves a snack or be able to wash their own plates. Practicing life skills is one of the foundations of early childhood learning.
