My classroom is full of energetic 7- and 8-year-olds! They love to get up, move around, and have fun while they are learning. I encourage them to explore and think both individually and with partners.
My school is located in a low socio-economic district.
Generational poverty and illiteracy are common among our families. We have a large number of students with learning disabilities and ADD/ADHD. However, our staff is dedicated to providing the best educational experiences for our children. We are often seeking new and innovative ways to improve the learning environment.
My Project
Students thrive on hands-on experiences. The more they touch, hear, and see what they are working on, the more likely they are to connect to the material.
Power Pens are engaging and interactive tools used to build multi-sensory brain connections.
Students use the interactive cards and pens to learn math skills such as place value, telling time, and counting money. They can also improve their phonics and reading comprehension with these tools. Since the pens give students helpful feedback, they are more likely to be able to work independently or in small groups. They are portable and can be used in flexible seating arrangements as well.
I want my students to enjoy and look forward to learning each day. I believe the Power Pen sets are one exciting way to make that happen!
