My Students

I have a wonderful and super diverse class. These kids are special because they are so unique. Each child comes to me with different backgrounds and experiences. I have some students who did not speak English as a first language, and some whose parents were first generation immigrants who have forged new businesses. I see kids whose homes may be chaotic, but who come every day ready to learn and grow.

This group wants hands-on learning!

They want to touch and feel and see what we are doing!

My Project

I have an engineer dad who has graciously agreed to come in on Fridays and work with my learning teams to help students understand our theme of "powering our future" with clean, renewable resources. These car kits will give the kids time to learn about the engineering aspects as well as to create STEM learning journals where they can log and blog their building activities, both the good and the bad. The kids will culminate this particular event with a classwide team race where they can test their cars and complete again their classmates! Kids will be learning not only about green resources, but they will learn about teamwork and never giving up!
