Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Due to COVID-19, we abruptly closed down our campus, but that never stopped our learning. On March 13th, my students were sent home with a Chromebook, a couple of books, and a crash course of Google Classroom. My resilient students adjusted to their distance learning and consistently met all their online learning program goals and attended class daily through Zoom.
Even through this unprecedented time, my students have shown how powerful and committed they are to learning.
These students LOVE to read, love to be read to, and love to share about all the amazing things they've learned through books.
My Project
Please help me create an inclusive and diverse library for my students! I have chosen books that shed light on different cultures and walks of life as well as books that help them understand themselves and their emotions. These books will be used to create lesson plans where they will be able to learn about themselves, their cultures, and empathize with other communities. These books will be used during our distance learning and will be available in their classroom library when we are able to come together in our classroom.
Your donation will help these resilient readers transform into powerful, empathetic leaders.
