This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
What I love about my students is that they are always energetic, happy, excited, and ready to learn. They are always up for the challenge and eager when it comes to exploring the different surroundings in their social-emotional environment. They are an incredible, unique group of students, despite their disabilities with communication.
The students that I work with and teach are Severe Profound Intellectually delayed students.
What makes my students special is that they all have their own way of learning. This school year is really different because they are remotely learning from home in a pandemic.
My Project
How these materials will make a difference in my students' learning is the batteries will come in handy, when it comes to using all the Assistance Technology devices that we use in our classroom to communicate with our students by them being non-verbal. What lessons that I will teach my students, and the learning outcomes would be speech-to-text software and word prediction tools are great assistive technologies that make it easier for students to communicate with their peers and teachers. Students with speech disabilities benefits from communicators, as well also.
