Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My 21’-22’ class is a hard working group that is eager to learn. My students are very willing to help others and enjoy having class jobs. We have two students who work as Tech Support and they have asked if we could have a charging station for the devices.
To keep our Chromebooks charged, secure, and ready to use in class we keep the devices at the school.
Currently, the fifth grade team has one cart for all four classes. Given the logistics it is very complicated so I have opted to have 19 chargers plugged into the outlets in the room. It does not look very nice, and is not a great use of space.
In fifth grade we serve nearly 100 students. It would be wonderful to have an additional cart to charge the Chromebooks at the end of the day.

My Project
This project will help organize our space and ensure that all devices are adequately charged. I integrate technology into my lessons to ensure students are acquiring 21st century skills. Many times students would show up to class with devices that were at 0% and required a minimum 10-minute charge before powering up. Many students forgot devices at home which caused difficulties during lessons where technology is integrated.
A charging cart will streamline the check-in and check-out process for Chromebooks, and create a space that feels more like home.
Our current situation looks very cluttered, chaotic, and disorganized.
