My students need Power Pen Reading Comprehension Quiz Cards, Power Pen Math Quiz Cards, and Power Pens to practice basic math fluency skills and reading comprehension skills.
I teach at a Title I school in North Carolina where one hundred percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. My amazing students come from a variety of economic and cultural backgrounds. Our classroom is a beautiful mixture of different ethnic groups, personalities, and learning styles. A portion of my students are socioeconomically disadvantaged living in poverty-stricken homes and facing a variety of hardships associated with poverty.
My students are eager to learn, but are often in need of an abundance of additional support, encouragement, and resources.
I am aware of the unfortunate challenges so many of my students are facing and battling outside of the classroom. Therefore, I feel it is prominent for me, as their teacher, to ensure our classroom is a safe, inspiring, and uplifting place where they can learn, make mistakes, and grow as individuals.
My Project
The Power Pen Quiz Cards would benefit our classroom in a variety of ways! The Power Pen Reading Comprehension Quiz Cards and Math Quiz Cards can be used for independent, individualized practice, partner practice, or small group practice.
This resource can be utilized as additional practice for students who are struggling to grasp specific math and/or reading fluency skills.
In addition, the quiz cards can be used as a review resource to help students retain the skills they have already learned.
Having access to Reading Comprehension Quiz Cards that are customized for different grade levels would also allow me to differentiate practice among students. For example, the cards could be used as interventions or enrichment activities depending on students' individual needs and learning abilities.
