My students are absolutely wonderful! There is never a dull moment in this room, that's for sure. I am the only RTI (Response to Intervention) teacher at my school for students in grades K-12. I work with students who need a bit of daily encouragement and opportunities for success in the areas of reading, writing, and math. Some students may only need extra help for a short time; others may need it indefinitely.
I believe in the power of yet!
My students often have negative feelings about themselves and their abilities. I want them to gain confidence and truly feel that success is going to happen...it just may not have happened yet. Everything we do in my classroom is designed to engage students, help them have a true sense of achievement, and go on to soar in the classroom and in life.
My Project
The students I see have some academic challenges in reading and math. We work on developing specific skills at their instructional level hoping to close any learning gaps they may have. The Power Pen device gives positive messages for correct answers and encouraging redirection for wrong answers. This helps keep students highly engaged and motivated to learn the skills.
Learning can be fun!
The goal of these materials is to provide another outlet for students to be successful in mastering and overcoming their skill deficits. Our goal in RTI is to give students the strategies and self-confidence they need in order to be successful in the regular classroom. Each student in my room works on individual skills necessary to meet that goal. Adding these practice cards will be an additional motivator for individual skill mastery.
