Help me give my students the PowerMyLearning Family Engagement programs! Our middle school students need more support at home and parents need help giving support to them.
My students enter our middle school in 7th grade, and they come from a tremendous variety of backgrounds, schools, cultures, languages, and goals. Every student is different, and yet they are the same-- they want to be accepted, approved of, and safe.
Do you remember middle school?
It's a time of discovery, of exploration, of friends, of finally having to organized, and being insecure about just about everything. How much could I pay you to repeat middle school? I've never met an adult who doesn't shiver when they think back to their middle school year.
Our school has an incredible variety of students-- middle class, new immigrants, foster kids.. everybody. They come to our school hoping to grow, succeed, and find themselves. I'm here to try to help them on their path.
My Project
Many students are behind at least one grade level, and they need additional support at home. As teachers and administrators, we try many different ways to reach out to families so they can better help their student. This is a difficult task and I must admit, sometimes we don't do a good enough job.
Often families are overwhelmed by their day-to-day struggle to put on the table.
But they want the best for their child, and our schools want that, too. Any materials, like PowerMyLearning will help students and their families reach higher academic achievement. I am grateful for this opportunity to help students at home.
