Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our small, rural school serves a low income/high poverty population based primarily on agriculture. My students come from hardworking families who may not be able to provide the needed academic support at home. With the limited resources available at a small underfunded school, my students often miss out on learning opportunities other students take for granted.
My students are creative, determined, motivated and struggling with learning disabilities, speech disorders and autism.
Despite their struggles, my classroom is a place where my students shine! We face each day as a fresh start and celebrate each hard-earned victory. My students are innovative and love exploring new ways to learn. Each student requires personalized attention to meet their specific needs. My classroom is a safe place where students feel supported and comfortable on their way towards success.
My students have made great progress this year, and we are looking forward to meeting more milestones. Having special needs does not hold my students back from having big dreams and meeting big goals; it just requires some extra support.
My Project
My students struggle with making connections between home and school. Making sure their families stay connected and involved in the topics we are covering is the main priority for me.

This project provides an innovative subscription of engaging curriculum that my students can work on during class and access at home. Technology is very engaging and motivating for my students. With PowerMyLearning Family Engagement Innovators Program, my classroom builds technology skills through 21st century skill integration.
I can't wait to get my students started on these cutting-edge playlists filled with educational concepts and see the incredible collaborative projects they get to create at home with their families. This project will make a huge impact in strengthening the home-school connection!
