Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are full of energy. They are 3 years old. My students enjoy anything that they can touch and manipulate.
My students do not let the language barriers stop them from learning and exploring.
The majority of my student's first language is Spanish and some are just learning to use their words to communicate with the world.
Our school serves low-income families and with the majority being one parent families. Our school gives the students the ability to explore STEAM activities while developing the social and emotional skills that will prepare them to be successful in the world.
My Project
This project is about charging devices that we have in our classroom but do not have batteries for them. These rechargeable batteries will be used to power an earthquake simulator, an outdoor weather station, and indoor weather data display.
The digital microscopes will allow my students to explore the world in a new way.
The digital microscope will be used to enhance our creative curriculums studies by showing students how the threads of clothes are woven together, and how our hands look when they are properly washed. This will show students that our hands may look clean but they are not. Enforcing the importance of proper handwashing techniques.
