My students are fifth graders from a struggling area in Appalachia in WV. They come together in our middle school from two elementary schools, consisting of four small country towns. My students love to learn in various ways. This year is quite different for all of us. We have had to face many struggles. All students learn differently. When students don’t have the proper tools, learning can be very difficult.
My Project
My students are doing a lot of their assignments on different programs on their iPads. Many students come to school with their iPads not charged or on low charge. Because of Covid, we cannot just place the student in another seat near the outlet to charge them.
By having Halo charging units, we can charge student iPads without needing to change the seating arrangement.
We have already had the power go out at our school two times this year. We had no lights and little power on iPads. With the Halo units, we would have lights, charging power, and more when this happens again.
