My Students

I might be slightly biased but I believe that my school and my school district are the best in Texas. My students share a community but come from a wide variety of backgrounds and cultures.

My students have something very important in common -- they LOVE books and reading.

As the librarian, this makes my job fun and very rewarding! In addition to daily library classes, I facilitate several popular reading events at my school including a March Book Madness bracket style competition, a paperback book exchange, and a summer reading program. I love to see how excited my students get about books!

My Project

Accidents happen! Books are lost or damaged all the time. Here's a great way to clear student library fines and keep our school library full of top notch books.

Powell students deserve access to great literature!

Library book orders are placed a couple of times a year. Offering families the option to purchase a book from the list instead of sending in money for lost or damaged materials ensures that Powell students continue to have access to great literature.

Keeping high-quality, diverse books in our library will help Powell students develop into intelligent, courteous, and caring people. Above all else, new books are FUN!
